A Little Place to Wander
Nestled along the Little Conestoga Creek in Manheim Township, Little Wilds sits on over an acre of forested land with trails, gardens, and a natural play area. Classes take place beneath the trees, on our covered deck, and throughout the forest.

The artist, mama, and little wild behind Little Wilds.
Hi, I’m Kate.
Little Wilds grew out of something pretty simple: time spent outside with my own kids and our friends.
We explored trails, collected treasures, made things with our hands, stopped to look at tiny bugs, and let the kids decide where we wandered next. Somewhere along the way, I realized that these ordinary afternoons were teaching us some pretty extraordinary things.
They were learning to trust their instincts.
To be curious.
To notice.
To make something without worrying about getting it right.
To follow an idea just because it felt interesting.
And that’s where Little Wilds began.
As an artist and a mom, I wanted to create a space where my love of nature, art, and childhood could all meet. A place where children could experience the outdoors not as something to be taught about, but as something to be experienced, and discovered for themselves.
Little Wilds is intentionally child-led. Rather than starting with a finished project or a set of instructions, we start with what’s around us. A leaf. A stick. A strange little mushroom.
My hope is that along the way, our little ones begin to trust themselves: their own curiosity, imagination, instincts, and creativity.
